Maria Sharapova Tennis

Maria Sharapova who had a disastrous 2008 which put her out with a shoulder injury for much of 2009 was back in the game at the latter end of the season last year but has admitted to the press for her to get back to her former world beating ways will be a tough and long road and not an overnight sensation.

maria sharapova

She is currently in Hong Kong preparing for the first grand slam of the season The Australian Open which is to be held later this month.

She has risen to 15th ranked in the world in a short space of time . However, she still needs to visit the gym six times a week for specific work on her shoulder and will need to take time out from tennis every now and then in order to avoid putting too much of a strain on her body. Thats the physical side but Tennis is also a mental game and being out of the competitive arena for such a long period of time will take time for her to adjust back to her winning ways and many new names have appeared since her time off!

She is currently 22 and still has time on her side to reclaim that No1 crown

2-Ivanovic, Radwanska unhappy about WTA Tour’s 2009 Roadmap calendar

The aim of the historic reforms and the new calendar is to create a more fan friendly and healthier system, to more consistently deliver stars to top events and reduce withdrawals. But do players agree?

The WTA’s new Roadmap is supposed to reduce the number of tournaments and shorten the season for the players’ benefit but

Ana Ivanovic and Agnieszka Radwanska believe that the new rules are constraining the players too much.

The world of Siberian tennis ace Maria Sharapova has changed infinitely since she first went to the US at the age of six.

In those early years, her parents were still struggling to establish themselves in a new country, to the extent that they even couldn't afford

a car, the young Sharapova being ferried to tennis lessons on the back of her father's bike. Learning from tennis maria sharapova .
Sharapova's ground strokes had tremendous pace, but equally important was how deep they were.
Time and again Serena would lift her front leg or even fall over trying to return maria sharapova's shots. To deal with such power, you have to hunker down and get control over your center of gravity. That requires using little adjustment steps to get in ideal hitting position. Serena has always been great at using long strides to retrieve seemingly unreachable balls, but she can struggle with smaller positioning steps.
tennis maria sharapova didn't just pound the ball; she also used guile. Serena isn't especially comfortable in the forecourt, and the last thing you want to do against an insecure volleyer is hit her the same kind of passing shot each time.So sharapova hit a rocket right at Serena (almost hitting her nose) and then dipped a slowpaced angle that caused a backhand volley error. And when sharapova really needed a point late in the second set, she threw up a beautiful backhand topspin lob that froze Serena, who was smothering the net
If tennis maria sharapova is down in a game, set, or match, you'd never know it by looking at her. Between points, she focuses on her strings to stay composed. So many players burn energy getting emotional about the score saves everything she has for her shots and her strategy.
